Guided Pilgrimages to Walsingham
Join us this November on a pilgrimage walk to remember
4 Days // 3 Nights*
13-16 November 2025
From the Julian Shrine in Norwich, walk with us on a 37-mile pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, long established as one of Norfolk’s holiest sites and known for centuries as ‘England’s Nazareth’.
Our 2025 Guided Pilgrimage Walk takes place in the weeks leading up to Advent. As we prepare to wait and hope with Mary, what better way to do so than on pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady?
*Optional 4th night available for any pilgrims not returning home immediately
All-Inclusive.
The pilgrimage is fully guided by veteran Norfolk walker Josiah English, MA Medieval Studies, with meals and accommodation provided at All Hallows Guesthouse at the Julian Shrine, and transportation to and from the start and end of the walk each day.

Itinerary. Day One.
Setting off from the Julian Shrine on day one (having arrived the night before), the pilgrim group will walk first to Norwich Cathedral for an early mass, pilgrim blessing and a stamp (if desired), before starting the first leg of the journey. Transport home at the end of the day will give pilgrims an opportunity to find peace and quiet at the Julian Shrine, or enjoy a wander in the city of Norwich, before a pilgrim supper and shared compline service.
Day Two.
Day two starts with a service at St Julian’s Church, and after breakfast the group will be transported back to where they left off the previous day to begin the second leg of the walk. This ends in the village of Great Ryburgh where we will share a pilgrim supper together laid on by the welcoming local parish church before transport back to Norwich.

PLEASE NOTE:
The route is a 37-mile path through the heart of Norfolk countryside with a wide variety of surfaces underfoot, including uneven ground, footpaths, bridleways, and quiet roads. Pilgrims must be fit enough to cope with the strain required, including walking up to 14 miles in a day at a moderate pace. Though Norfolk is generally fairly flat, good levels of fitness are recommended and we ask prospective pilgrims to use common sense when determining their ability to complete the journey.
Be prepared for British weather! Bring plenty of water with you each day, snacks if you require them, appropriate footwear, clothing, and any other gear you feel necessary to accomplish the walk.
Pilgrims are each responsible for their own welfare and expected to take due care when walking and enjoying the outdoors. The Julian Shrine accepts no responsibility for injuries that may occur en route.
We will make every effort to ensure pilgrims are comfortable with the pace and enjoy the journey, and in return we expect everyone to exercise common sense with their preparations and come ready for all weathers.
Finally: You will know your own limitations and needs better than anyone, and you are responsible for ensuring your own wellbeing. We are happy to offer advice and answer any questions you may have, so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
